Yesterday, Jerry LaLiberte, a plumber in Florida, was doing a routine plumbing job when he stumbled upon something out of the ordinary. Wrapped in foil and placed in an air duct was $20,000 in cash. Wow! That’s a lot! LaLiberte told the news station, “I was scared. It scared me. My hands were shaking” (aol.com). Like a good man, LaLiberte called his bosses, who in turn called the police and homeowner. The money was returned to the right owner, the children of a mother who enjoyed hiding her money all over the house. When the mother died she told her children where she hid everything, but she missed to tell them that hiding place! I wonder if there is any money stashed in my house….hmm….
The author of this article, David Schepp, did not follow chronological order. I think the article would have been better if he had explained what happened, then explained why it happened (the mother left money around the house), and finally placed the quotes in. It would add more flow to it. I do not like how the order is mixed up. The author does use quotes, though, to help engage his readers.

Wow, he's a really good guy. A lot of people probably wouldn't have said anything.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting mother! I will have to ask my mom if she is hiding any money around the house for me to find later. :)
